Wood-fired Shiboridashi with matching cup. The Shiboridashi is made from smooth, iron-rich stoneware and left unglazed, showing the intense effects of a heavy reduction firing.The cup is finished with a white interior for clarity and a thick, deep, green-gray stony glaze on the exterior. The weight and texture of the cup’s outer surface provide a grounded contrast to the scorched, bare clay of the Shibo.
