Set of seven "Tea Medicine" bowls. These bowls are thrown from a sandy stoneware and coated in a white slip surface for the fire to act upon. Before being placed in the kiln, each bowl was filled with spent tea leaves. The intense heat of the wood-firing burned the leaves and melting the ash in the bottom of each bowl
 
This specific firing resulted in a lighter overall tone with gentle, airy fire marks on the exterior. The "tea leaf glaze" inside serve as a direct connection to the plant, making these bowls a literal vessel for "Tea Medicine."
