Wood-fired Shiboridashi with matching cup. The Shiboridashi is made from smooth, iron-rich stoneware and left unglazed, highlighting the intense effects of a heavy reduction firing.
 
The cup is finished with a white interior and coated on the exterior in "Iron Moon" glaze. This metallic black finish is heavily textured, characterized by craters and bubbles. The volatile, volcanic surface of the cup creates a sharp, tactile contrast against the scorched, bare clay of the Shibo.
